The projects cover the following themes:
Regulation of neural crest migration; DFG funded project. Literature: Kashef et al. Genes & Dev 2009.
Cell migration in gastrulation controlled by different Wnt-signalling pathways; funded by the DFG-research program FOR1036 (http://www.wnt.uni-hd.de/Main_page.html). Literature: Schambony & Wedlich, Dev. Cell 2007, Hammerschmidt & Wedlich, Development 2008.
Structuring and chemical functionalisation of surfaces to manipulate cell differentiation; funded in the DFG-Cluster of Excellence: Center for Functional Nanostructures, CFN. Literature: Kalinina et a. Biomaterials 2008, Montero-Pancera et al. Langmuir 2010, Engin et al. Langmuir 2010.
Candidates should have finished a master degree in biology/ biochemistry and in case of project 3 (CFN) in chemistry or chemical biology. Applicants should be highly motivated and experienced in molecular and cell biological techniques. For project 3, experience in surface chemistry is an advantage.
The KIT is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from women.
Disabled persons with comparable skills will be preferentially considered.
